Panic! You Have To Take Action To Get Anything Done!

I am an expert at teaching martial arts to children and adults. In fact, I feel like I am one of the best I have ever met. Of course I have room to improve, but you can rest assured that I take daily action on making progress toward that improvement. What are your big areas of improvement that if you would take daily action, your life would fundamentally and dramatically change for the better? How to you set and achieve goals? What are the standards you live by, and how do you set and maintain them? Would you like some help? The Asian Arts Center Taekwondo School is the best first place to start on a lifetime of self improvement. Whether it is for yourself, or you want to give your children a strong start, come give us a chance to show you how and what we teach. www.aacdayton.com or thanxmom.org

Teaching Grit

We have been teaching Grit for many years in our martial arts school. Mainstream Education is just now discovering that Grit is a key component of success and lifelong learning. Angela Lee Duckworth, in a TED Talk, describes Grit as Passion and Perseverance. She goes on to say that she has figured out how to measure it, and that grit is far more valuable than intelligence for academic success. Not surprisingly, she admits that she and others in her profession don’t know how to teach Grit.

Just like focus and self-regulation, we have been improving our skill, as non-traditional educators, in teaching Grit. It is important to understand that what Duckworth and others who only teach the stories of Grit, are missing, is that in addition to Passion and Perseverance, teaching Grit must also include Purpose.

For more information on how we teach Grit, along with Grace, Integrity, Compassion, and Joyfulness, come see us at one of our Miami Valley martial arts schools.
